Materials: Chipboard, Acrylic Paint, Mylon
Year: 2016 Painting I thought of this idea because I really love autumn and I really love rain. So I decided to mix them both. I used the Analogues color scheme and my goal was to go from a dark color to a bright color. Kind of like I am getting happier as it gets deeper into autumn. I left the chipboard raw because I liked how the brown went with the other autumn colors. |
Project 2: Texture : Not on the Inside
|
Materials: modeling paste, acrylic paint
Year: 2016 Painting When I made this I wanted to convey that something looks kind of boring on the outside, but then when it opens up it looks more exciting and colorful. for the texture I used modeling paste with my pallet knife to make a scale-like look. I decided to go for an orange background because i wanted something to pop, but also not look like rainbow barf.

Materials: Water color, black ink markers
Year: 2016 Painting I thought of this idea when I was driving to my sister's last recital. Her favorite flower is the stargazer lily so that was what I based the style and the color of the flower on. I got the idea of the color dripping off because it was raining when we were driving and the dripping on the windows of the car reminded me of something melting or draining.

Project 4: Choice Painting : Organized Chaos |
Materials: Acrylic Paint, Canvas, Pallet Knife
Year: 2016 Painting When I thought about doing my last painting I wanted to do something not planned. I went with a more blue- green color scheme because I hadn't used any dark colors like this before. The only tool I used on the painting was my pallet knife because I wanted to try to get a messy look but still be able to get semi-straight lines. My whole background is going the same direction so its not to chaotic, but its not to straight of lines that it looks like it doesn't belong. I added the accent colors as a bright green and the white. I played with the intensities of the main color so that it wasn't so boring with just monotone colors. I added the bright green color in the more busy shapes and also painted the side of the canvas with it so that it would correspond. |
